- 28 Aug 2026 - 30 Aug 2026
ShredFest 2026 celebrates 40 years of Australian snowboarding, bringing together riders, industry legends, newcomers and mountain enthusiasts for three days dedicated to the culture and history of the sport. The program moves between Jindabyne and Charlotte Pass, combining storytelling and film with time on the mountain, making it as much a community gathering as a snowboarding event. Registration begins at Jindabyne Memorial Hall from 5pm on Friday 28 August.
What’s included: The announced ShredFest program centres around several key parts of Australian snowboarding culture.
- Snowboarding film night celebrating the history and progression of the sport in Australia
- Friday evening registration and community gathering at Jindabyne Memorial Hall
- Ride Day at Charlotte Pass
- Banked Slalom Pow Wow on the mountain
- Round-table Q&A sessions
- Stories and discussion involving riders and figures from different generations of Australian snowboarding
- Opportunities for experienced riders, newcomers and members of the wider snowboard community to connect
- A three-day celebration recognising past pioneers while looking at the current and future Australian snowboard scene
Where to stay
Because ShredFest begins in Jindabyne and then moves into the mountains for its riding program, Jindabyne is a particularly practical base for the weekend. Staying in town puts you close to Friday’s registration and community activities while keeping you well positioned for the drive towards Charlotte Pass on the snow day.
For riders travelling with boards, winter clothing and other mountain equipment, having the extra space of a self-contained property can also make a multi-day snowboarding weekend more comfortable. Explore Jindabyne accommodation with Discover Snowy Mountains to find whole-home stays close to the town’s shops, dining and services while remaining within easy reach of the alpine areas.
